Awards and Promotions program 2022 Anika Sadler & Roush earn 4th level
The Western Haflinger Association was fortunate to have Anika Sadler and her 10 year old Haflinger gelding, Roush, join our ranks with their enthusiasm and handy participation of all things equine. Their busy 2023 year netted them a 4th level in the WHA Promotions and Award Program with a leather halter bearing brass WHA plate. That, however, was just one great accomplishment within the rest of their year! In travels and competitions, they first got the attention of the big outfitting brand Outback Trading Co. when they competed in Skijoring last year. Outback reached out to them and the pair has been modeling for Outback ever since!
2018 Carolyn Gilmore with Mitzi & Baladeer earn two 3rd level awards
Western Haflinger Association member, Carolyn Gilmore, of El Dorado, California, has earned two level three awards in the Promotions and Awards Program for 2018. Her horse Mitzi MOF got out in public being shown in halter (placing in her classes) and under saddle, she attended two Janis Scott clinics and two Mike Canfield clinics, both to further ground and saddle work. She also spent three days at the Horse Expo at California State Fairgrounds in June spreading the good news about Haflingers! Carolyn’s Balladeer WRR earned his 3rd level standing also got out in public in horse shows learning the ropes of trail classes. He also did three days at the Horse Expo in Sacramento. Balladeer’s big effort for 2018 was participating in the National Pony Express Reenactment by going six miles in the mountains of California, his part of the 10 day reenactment from Sacramento, California, to Saint Joseph, Missouri.
