 Promotions and Awards
The Promotions and Awards point program allows WHA members to promote their Haflingers and the breed while earning cool gifts and benefitting all Haflinger owners.
There are 4 levels of awards:
       
Level 1 –participants who turn in 3 or more events
Level 2 – 50 point achievement
Level 3 – 100 point achievement
Level 4 – 150 points achievement

How points are accumulated:
 
Ten points will be awarded for every public event in which you and your Haflinger participate.

Example:
Parades, clinics, fairs, WHA gatherings, horse shows, organization sponsored  trail rides (Oregon Equestrian Trail , etc.)


Competition:  Shows, trail, driving and pulling contests where you receive an award (these are points in addition to points for participation):

First place        - 10 points                                 
Second place   - 7 points                  
Third place      - 5 points    
 Fourth place  - 3 points
Fifth place       - 1 point
Reserve High Point - 15 points                              
High Point - 20 points

Western Haflinger Association member, Carolyn Gilmore, of El Dorado, California, has earned two level three awards in the Promotions and Awards Program for 2018.  Her horse Mitzi MOF got out in public being shown in halter (placing in her classes) and under saddle, she attended two Janis Scott clinics and two Mike Canfield clinics, both to further ground and saddle work. She also spent three days at the Horse Expo at California State Fairgrounds in June spreading the good news about Haflingers!  Carolyn’s Balladeer WRR earned his 3rd level standing also got out in public in horse shows learning the ropes of trail classes.  He also did three days at the Horse Expo in Sacramento. Balladeer’s big effort for 2018 was participating in the National Pony Express Reenactment by going six miles in the mountains of California, his part of the 10 day reenactment from Sacramento, California, to Saint Joseph, Missouri.
